Our roles include:
Represent dentists on NHS performer lists in discussions with NHS England, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and other local organisations about how dental services are planned and delivered.
Provide a channel for feedback from dentists to commissioners (and vice versa) on contracts, clinical pathways, service changes, etc.
Support and advise practitioners, for example signposting to help on contract issues, performer list matters, and wellbeing support.
Coordinate local engagement on national consultations, workforce planning and new initiatives.
Promote education and CPD often by hosting study days or sharing training opportunities.
The Local Dental Committee is the recognised statutory body representing primary care dentists in County Durham & Darlington.
We act as the local “voice” of NHS dental practitioners.
